1942-2015
Harry D. Homan, 73, of Waupun, died Thursday, March 26, 2015 at his home.
Harry was born February 27, 1942 in the town of Waupun on the family farm the son of Ko and Dorothy Respalje Homan On August 2, 1963 he married Pat Vande Berg at Alto Christian Reformed Church. Following their marriage the couple resided in Waupun all their married lives. Harry was employed by Silgan Containers for 32 years and retired in 1997. Following retirement he farmed with his son, Kyle. Harry also drove bus for Central Wisconsin Christian Schools for several years. Harry was a member of First Christian Reformed Church in Waupun. He served as an alderman in Waupun for two terms and was also a 4-H leader. Harry and Pat worked in prison ministry at Dodge Correctional for many years.
Harry is survived by his wife of 51 years, Pat Homan of Waupun; four sons: Kyle Homan of Brandon, Brad (Val) Homan of Denver, CO, Troy (Tammy) Homan of Waupun, and Kevin (Andrea) Homan of Waupun; ten grandchildren: Amanda, Carissa (fiancé Kyle Vande Zande), Brittany (special friend Tyler Minnesma), Jacob, Braden, Colton, Madison, Reece, Hope, and Macy Homan; a sister, Catherine (Charley) Jansma of Waupun; two brothers, Edwin (Flora) Homan of Waupun, and Kenneth (Elaine) Homan of Waupun; brother-in-law, Bernie Beek of Waupun; sister-in-law, Carolyn Homan of Grand Rapids, MI; along with Pat’s brothers and sisters and nieces and nephews.
Harry was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Richard Homan; a sister, Angeline Beek; and sister-in-law, Mary Homan.
Visitation:
Friends and relatives of Harry Homan may call on the family on Sunday from 3-6 p.m. at the Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun and on Monday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
Services:
Funeral services for Harry Homan will be held Monday, March 30, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at First Christian Reformed Church in Waupun with Rev. Craig Van Hill officiating.
Burial:
Burial will follow at Alto Cemetery.
