Harold B. Hopp, 75, of Waupun, died peacefully at his home on Monday, May 7, 2012 with his family by his side.
Harold was born August 13, 1936 in Waupun the son of Herman and Henrietta Voskuil Hopp. On June 22, 1960 he married Ardis D. Hofman in Waupun. Harold was a long-time resident of Waupun and a member of First Reformed Church of Waupun. He served in both the US Army and the National Guard. He was a member of American Legion Post 210 of Waupun. Harold was employed at John Deere Horicon Works for 30 years and was a crossing guard for 16 years. Harold enjoyed watching his grandkid’s sports including hockey, baseball, softball, and basketball. He also enjoyed Nascar races.
Harold is survived by his wife of 52 years, Ardis; two sons, Daniel L. Hopp and Steven B. (Tina) Hopp; three daughters, Patricia (Dan) Vande Zande, Karla (Jeff) Daane, and Marcia (Bret) Grant, all of Waupun; 10 grandchildren, Steve, Blaine, and Jeremy Hopp, Corinne and Corey Vande Zande, Katie (Paul) Bloesl, Jordan Daane, Celine, Cierra and Carl Grant; a great-grandson, Jacob Hopp; and a great-granddaughter, Savannah Hopp.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.
Visitation:
Friends and relatives may call on the family on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. at Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun and on Thursday at church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
Services:
Funeral services for Harold Hopp will be held Thursday, May 10, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at First Reformed Church in Waupun with Rev. Bob James officiating.
Burial:
Burial will follow at Forest Mound Cemetery in Waupun where American Legion Post 210 will provide military honors.
