Hannah Rose Vannetta, 17, of Waupun, passed away Wednesday, December 27, 2023 in Madison due to complications during her battle with leukemia.
Hannah was born April 24, 2006, the daughter of Brett Vannetta and Kristi Thurk. Arts and animals were Hannah's passion. She enjoyed volunteering at the Waupun Animal Shelter. Hannah was a member of Drama Club, Art Club, and GSA Club. She wanted to be a psychiatrist when she graduated from high school. While going through all of her treatments she was accepted into UW Oshkosh, was able to go to Homecoming, and kept up on all of her homework. During her treatments, no matter how tough it got for Hannah, she showed her love for other kids on the floor by making special arts for them while being down there. Through it all Hannah never changed on the inside. She truly loved her family, especially her siblings.
Hannah is survived by her father, Brett (Janel) Vannetta; her mother, Kristi (Jeremy) Thurk; two brothers: Lucas Thurk and Jackson Vannetta; grandparents: Buck (Betty) Vannetta, Randy (Kathy) Mulder, Jim (Joanne) Frank, Bob (Ann) Keyser, and Dick (Sherry) Thurk; great- grandparents: Georgene Mulder, Audrey Nolan, and Joan Fletcher; and aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
An opportunity for remembrance will be held for close family and friends of Kristi and Jeremy Thurk that feel the need to share a memory of Hannah or to show support to the family on Friday, January 5, 2024 at Bridges at The Rock from 3-6 p.m.
Brett and Janel Vannetta and family will be holding an opportunity for remembrance at a later date.
