King/Cambria: Gordon F. Evans, age 84 formerly of Cambria, died Saturday, March 5, 2016 at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King, WI. A celebration of Gordy’s life will be held at the First Presbyterian Church in Cambria, 121 W. Florence St., on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Steven Bowie officiating. Burial will follow in Cambria Cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by the Cambria American Legion Post 401. A luncheon will be served back at the church. Relatives and friends may call on the family on Saturday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services. Gordy was born on January 20, 1932 in Cambria the son of Fred and Margaret (Bradley) Evans. Gordy was a Korean War veteran serving in the Army and was stationed in Japan. He was employed with the Larson Company (Del Monte Foods) and retired in 1994. Gordy was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, a member of the Cambria Volunteer Fire Department for 35 years, served as a village trustee and was a past commander of the Cambria American Legion Post 401. He had been a resident of the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King since 2003. Gordy will be sadly missed and mourned by his children, Sue (Ken) Hady of Hartland, Sandi Evans of Muskego and Shelley Evans of Green Bay; grandchildren, Chris Hady of Brookfield, Elizabeth Hady of Chicago, Matt Evans of Milwaukee and Dan Evans of Indianapolis, IN; other relatives and friends. Gordy was preceded by his parents, his son Bradd Evans in 1983, a grandson Bradd Hady, and one sister, Phyllis.
