Gordon Abrahamson, 89, of Waupun, died Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at The Christian Home and Rehabilitation Center in Waupun.
Gordon was born September 28, 1923 in Waukesha County, the son of Sigurd and Bertha Glitz Abrahamson. When Gordon was 17, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served in World War II on the USS Charleston in the Pacific Ocean. On April 5, 1945 he married Margaret Bawden in Sheboygan. In 1964 the couple moved to Waupun where Gordon was employed by the Wisconsin Department of Corrections. He worked in maintenance at Central State Hospital and later Dodge Correctional Institution, retiring in 1987. Gordon was a member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Waupun, American Legion Post 210 in Waupun in which he served with the Honor Guard for several years, Veterans Foreign Wars Post 6709 in Waupun, and the Dodge County 40 et 8.
Gordon is survived by a daughter, Sandralee of North Fond du Lac; and a sister, Harriet Hazeldick of Abbotsford, WI.
Gordon was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret in January of 2004; two sisters, Karen Lassanske and Bernice Wisth; and a brother, Orville Abrahamson.

Friends and relatives may call on the family on Friday at church from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
Services:
Funeral services for Gordon Abrahamson will be held Friday, February 1, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Waupun with Deacon Susan Burman and Rev. Edwin Smith officiating.
Burial:
Burial will follow at Wildwood Cemetery in Sheboygan.
