Gerald “Jerry” Charles Hermann, age 81, passed away on February 26, 2025.
Jerry was born April 3, 1943 in Beaver Dam, WI, the son of Lawrence and Ruth Hermann. Jerry was the oldest of two boys. He grew up and lived in the Waupun, WI area until he passed away.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 55 years, Margaret “Peggy” Ann Hermann; their three children and their spouses: Keith Gerald (Angie) Hermann, Kevin Richard (Joyce) Hermann, and Sara Marie (Christopher) Winkeljohn; and three grandchildren: Olivia, Josiah, and Eliana Winkeljohn.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Ronald Hermann; and a still born sister.
Jerry was a long-time resident of Waupun, WI. He worked for Mercury Marine for 40 years before retiring and enjoyed spending his leisure time perfecting his woodworking skills. Many friends and family members have beautiful pieces crafted by Jerry. He also made sound cabinets for Kingdom Halls through the RBC (now LDC). He also had a love for electronics/cars and was able to create a “trike” that he built out of a Volkswagen front end and Honda gold wing back end. And his last vehicle was the Jeep Wrangler TJ that he enjoyed restoring. He particularly appreciated a gift of a camera from his daughter and her family as he came more housebound and that allowed him to pursue his love of photography and capturing pictures of the beautiful wildlife around their home.
One thing that was very important to Jerry was his love of Jehovah. He was initially not interested when his wife, Peggy began studying the Bible with Jehovah’s Witnesses. In fact, it took him a few years, but in time he developed an interest in spiritual things and was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on May 25, 1975. He was a faithful servant of Jehovah and would share his hope for the future in a world where everyone would live in peace on a paradise earth free of sickness and pain (Revelation 21:4). He looked forward to a time when he would be able to enjoy perfect health and happiness with friends and family in that new world.
The family of Jerry Hermann would like to express their sincere gratitude and appreciation to all the dear friends for the outpouring of love and support they have received.
