Gerald Bossenbroek, 93, of Waupun, died Friday evening, March 23, 2012 at Waupun Memorial Hospital.
Gerald was born April 9, 1918 in the town of Alto, the son of Gerhardus and Hannah Redeker Bossenbroek. On October 3, 1941 he married Marjorie Kamphuis in the town of Trenton. Following their marriage the couple resided in the Waupun area where they farmed in the town of Alto and the town of Trenton. Gerald was a charter member of First Christian Reformed Church in Waupun where he taught Sunday School for several years. He enjoyed singing and sang with many quartets and male choruses in the area.
Gerald is survived by a daughter, Leanne (Bruce) Huizenga of Beaver Dam; a son, Keith (Cheryl) Bossenbroek of Frisco, Texas; five grandchildren, Dale (Laurel) Huizenga, Jean (Dale) Jansen, Mark (Jennifer) Bossenbroek, Kevin Bossenbroek, and Erik (Kathleen) Bossenbroek; 10 great-grandchildren, Seth (Jacqueline) Huizenga, Austin Huizenga, Collin Huizenga, Annika Huizenga, Annalyse Huizenga, Tyler Jansen, Luke Jansen, Claire Jansen, Kaleb Bossenbroek, and Brayden Bossenbroek; a sister-in-law, Grace Kamphuis, and nieces and nephews.
Gerald was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie; two brothers, and five sisters.
Services:
Funeral services for Gerald Bossenbroek will be held Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at 6 p.m. at First Christian Reformed Church in Waupun with Rev. Norman Haan officiating.
Burial:
Burial will take place at Alto Cemetery on Thursday morning at 10 a.m.
Visitation:
Friends and relatives of Gerald Bossenbroek may call on the family at the church on Wednesday from 4 p.m. until the time of service.
