Fredric F. Mollien, 88, of Waupun, passed away on January 8, 2025 at the Christian Home in Waupun with his wife and daughters by his side.

Fred was born November 23, 1936 in Monroe, WI, the son of Fredric J. and Letha Matzke Mollien. In 1946 the family moved to Brandon, and Fred attended Brandon Elementary School and High School graduating in 1955. He then enlisted in the Air Force, serving part of his time of service in Germany. On December 28, 1957, Fred married the love of his life, Beverly J. Prange Bruins at Alto Reformed Church. Following his tour of duty they resided in Waupun. Fred was employed at the Carnation Company and then built a career with the Department of Corrections, retiring in 1999.

Fred was a voracious reader, particularly anything related to WWII. He also had a love for information regarding air travel and trains. Fred was involved in numerous community associations and boards, including the Waupun Hockey Association, the Parks and Recreation Board, and the Board of Review for the city. Fred cherished his many friends and so enjoyed spending time with those he loved, especially the time spent with his children, grandchildren, and his great-grandchildren.

Fred had a profound appreciation and passion for travel. He and Bev visited all 50 states and made three trips to Europe making new friends along the way. Another passion of Fred’s was exploring new restaurants and he and Bev were always ready to travel to find new places to enjoy. Fred was a proud supporter of the Wisconsin Badgers and they were season ticket holders for over 30 years. The Molliens have been members of Trinity Church since 1962, and Fred served on the consistory, various committees, and participated in mission trips.

Fred is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Beverly Bruins; daughters: Brenda (Tim) Stobb, Jodi (Calvin J.) Greenfield, and Lynn (Tom) Balgie; five grandchildren: Charles (Kristin Holz) Stobb, Jackson (Juliahana) Stobb, Jennifer Greenfield, Bryant (Elizabeth) Greenfield, and Lydia Greenfield; five great-grandchildren: Miles, Isla, and Cole Greenfield, Scarlett and Warren Stobb; his sister, Carla Mollien of Madison WI; sister-in-law, Dorothy Mollien of Minneapolis, MN, brother and sister-in-law, Keith (Donna) Bruins of Alto, WI; and nieces and nephews.

Fred was preceded in death by his parents, Fredric J. and Letha Mollien; his brother, Jon Mollien; and his in-laws, Franklin and Alvina Bruins.
