Florence M. Wood

Florence M. Wood, 92, of Waupun, passed away Thursday, July 6, 2017 at Prairie Ridge Assisted Living in Waupun.

Florence was born February 16, 1925 in Fennimore, WI the daughter of Christopher and Elva McLimans Bock. Florence attended Fennimore schools, graduating from Fennimore High School in 1943. On October 4, 1944 she married Edward L. Wood in Fennimore. Following their marriage the couple resided in Fennimore most of their married lives. Florence was employed at Parker Pen for a few years and later became employed by Good Samaritan Nursing Home where she worked in its laundry department. Florence retired from Good Samaritan Nursing Home following 25 years of employment. She was a member of Fennimore United Methodist Church where she was also a member of its Vesper Group. Following her retirement, Florence volunteered her time at Good Samaritan, assisting with games as well as bus trips. Florence also helped many of her friends by taking them shopping and driving them to their appointments.

Florence is survived by her children: Trudy Ann (David) Holtan of Brandon, WI and Darwin Lee Wood of Indianapolis, IN; six grandchildren: Chris (Angela) Wood, Jason Wood, Courtney (Joe) Tuttle, Becky Holtan-Brohn, Rachel Holtan, and Laura (Ethan deSeife) Holtan; and seven great-grandchildren: Zachary, Logan, Ethan, Ben, Levon, Abby, and Nikolai.

Florence was preceded in death by her past husband, Edward; a sister, Helen Munns; brother, Donald Bock; and a sister-in-law, Luetta Bock.



Cremation has taken place with Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun. A gathering of friends and relatives will take place on Saturday, July 15, 2017 from 1-3 p.m. at the Larson Funeral Home in Fennimore, WI.
