Florence Kastein

Florence Kastein, 98, of Waupun, went to her heavenly home on Saturday, August 3, 2024. 

Florence graced this world on April 28, 1926, in Fond du Lac County, born to the loving embrace of John and Dena Kamphuis Buteyn. On April 18, 1952, Florence exchanged vows with Howard Kastein in Waupun, embarking on a shared path that they walked hand in hand. Their home in Waupun was not just a place but a sanctuary of everlasting love and companionship. 

Throughout her years, Florence dedicated herself to spreading joy and kindness. She found purpose working part-time in the dietary department at the Christian Home in Waupun, touching the lives of many with her warmth and care. Her faith was a guiding light, as she was a member of Bethel Christian Reformed Church in Waupun, where her spirit shone brightly. 

Florence's legacy is not only one of hard work and dedication but also one of love and compassion. Her presence brought solace to those around her, and her memory will continue to be a source of comfort for all whose lives she touched. Florence was beloved by so many and brought the love of Christ to everyone that met her. In our hearts forever she shall remain a guiding light of love and grace. 

Florence is survived by her daughter, Ann (Scott) Melton of AZ; a son, Robert (Debra) Kastein of Waupun; four grandchildren: Summar Klug, Madison Klug, Pierce Melton, and Andy Kastein; and a sister, Joyce (Gene) Schripsema of NM. 

She was preceded in death by her husband Howard; a son, William; her parents; and brothers: Clayton, Gerald, Roland, Adrian, and Donald Buteyn.

Funeral services for Florence Kastein will be held Friday, August 9, 2024 at 11 a.m. at Bethel Christian Reformed Church in Waupun with Rev. Kurt Ritsema officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens in the town of Trenton. Friends and relatives may call on the family on Thursday at Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun from 4-7 p.m. and on Friday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
