Ferne Sampson

Ferne E. Sampson, 93, of Mayville, passed away Saturday, October 7, 2023 at Prairie Ridge Assisted Living in Mayville.

Ferne was born August 21, 1930 in the township of Rosendale, the daughter of Leonard and Eva Siebenhaar. Ferne was the first of five children. She married George Spielvogel in 1952 at United Church of Christ in Ripon. They resided in Fairwater for many years. Ferne worked for Admanco in Ripon for years. George preceded her in death in 2002. She later married Donald Sampson and they resided in Brownsville until they moved to assisted living in Mayville.

Ferne is survived by her husband, Don and his five children: Dennis, Dale, Dean, Kay, and Mary; brother, Dean Siebenhaar; sisters: Shirley (Ken) Margers and Arlene Cawthorn; and many nieces and nephews.

Ferne was preceded in death by her sister, Phyllis Brown; Don’s son, Doug; two brothers-in-law; and a sister-in-law.

A private memorial service will be held at Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun. Inurnment will take place at Brandon Cemetery.
