Obituary for Elden (Eldie) Arnold Kuhn Elden (Eldie) Kuhn passed away peacefully on April 23, 2018 in his home in rural Cambria. Eldie was born August 7, 1954 to Arnold and Irene (Curtis) Kuhn. He graduated from Cambria-Friesland high school in 1972 then attended a two year course in diesel mechanics at MATC. Upon completion he began work as a mechanic at Enerson and Eggen until the business closed and then he worked for Farmers Implement in Columbus until he retired in 2015. However, even after retiring Eldie continued to help the many farmers who called on him to fix a tractor or drive equipment during the spring planting and fall harvest seasons. Eldie was a life-long lover of Harley Davidson motorcycles and was a member of the Free-Wheelers Motorcycle Club. He was a collector of tractors and tools and his tool collection was extensive! He could often be found outside using those tools on one of his tractors or on the tractor of a friend or neighbor. Eldie knew everyone , and he appreciated his many friends, often taking impromptu road trips with them or his daughter, Jess. He never used a GPS but preferred a good old-fashioned map, although he knew most roads like the back of his hand due to extensive travel on service calls. He never passed a tractor along the highway with a For Sale sign on it without stopping to check it out first. Eldie will be greatly missed by his daughter, Jessica Kuhn of Oshkosh; and his son, Jacob Rizer of Detroit, Michigan; as well as his siblings, Margaret (Tom) Lange of Harrisville, Maurice “Dan” Kuhn of Portage, Theresa Popelka of Rio, Chris (Cal) Geertsma of Randolph, Judy Manthey of Poynette, Heather (Doug) Tessmann of Cambria, Sharon (Stu) Quade of Cambria. He leaves behind many nieces, nephews and other friends and relatives. Eldie was preceded in death by his parents. All services will be held at the Cambria Fire Station/Community Center located at 702 Elizabeth Street, Cambria, WI. A visitation will be held Thursday, April 26th from 5-8pm, and Friday, April 27th, from 10-11am. The funeral service will be held Friday, 11am. The Kratz-Smedema Funeral Home in Cambria is serving the family. For more information or to leave an online condolence, please visit www.kratzfh.com.
