1915-2014
Edna Gerretson, 99, of Waupun, went to her heavenly home on Thursday, October 23, 2014.
Edna was born January 31, 1915 in the town of Trenton the daughter of William and Anna Bremel Bruesch. On November 8, 1932 she married William J. Gerretson in Waupun. The couple shared 69 wonderful years together until Bill’s death in 2002. She and Bill resided in Waupun until 1971. While in Waupun, she was employed for 32 years at the Ideal Shoe Factory. In 1971 they moved to Fox Lake and in 2001 returned to Waupun. Edna enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She especially loved her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Edna was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Waupun.
Edna is survived by her daughters: Marjorie Harper of Waupun, and Barbara Gehrke of Beaver Dam; a sister, Evelyn Nelson of Wisconsin Rapids; four grandchildren: Michael (Brenda) Gehrke, Michelle Falkowski, Kurt Harper, and Lori (Jim) Rohde; six great-grandchildren: Joshua Gehrke, Jason Gehrke, Brandon Bulcock, Stacy (Adam) Griswold, Kevin (Mary) Rohde, and Derrick (Amanda) Rohde; nine great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Edna was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, on October 17, 2002; a daughter, Ann Bonack on October 9, 2009; sons-in-law: Alvin Bonack, Donald Harper, and Kenneth Gehrke; her brothers: Lester, Arnold, August, Elgart, and Elmer Bruesch; a sister, Lillie Riege; a granddaughter; and a great-grandson.
Visitation:
Friends and relatives of Edna Gerretson may call on the family on Sunday at the Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home from 3:30-6 p.m. and on Monday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
Services:
Funeral services for Edna Gerretson will be held Monday, October 27, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Waupun with Rev. Elizabeth Lee officiating.
Burial:
Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens in the town of Trenton.
