Earl Rohde

Earl Rohde, 85, of Waupun, passed away Friday, December 16, 2022 at his home with family by his side. 

Earl was born January 7, 1937 in Fond du Lac, WI the son of Ertmann and Arline Merkel Rohde. Earl attended high school in Peoria, IL but moved to Fond du lac where he met the love of his life, Gladys Draeger. They later got married Nov 1, 1958 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Fond du Lac. Earl then joined the National Guard where he served in Washington State. Upon his return the couple owned and operated a dairy farm in Markesan, WI, selling it in 1984 and moving to Waupun. Earl then drove semi until 2013. Earl loved woodworking, boating, motorcycling, going up north, traveling, gambling, fishing, yard work, and landscaping. He loved to work. 

Earl is survived by his wife of 64 years, Gladys; two sons: Alan (Mary) Rohde and Todd (Jackie) Rohde; a daughter, Annette (Don) Schroeder; eleven grandchildren: Ben and Mark Glover, Elizabeth and Matthew Irle, Michael (Brittany) Rohde, Justin Rohde, Philip Rohde (fiance Jackie Rosen), Josh (Samatha) Rohde, Kalynn (Wes) Northam, Rachel (Collin) Visser, and Heather (David) Gibson; five great-grandchildren: Leah, Sutton, Autumn, Amelia, Ava, and baby Gibson; two sisters: Carmen Butler and Sue Savage; and many nieces and nephews. 

Earl was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Jason Schroeder; and three brothers: Erlin, Armann, and Dale Rohde. 

Funeral services for Earl Rohde will be held Thursday, December 22, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun with Rev. David Cooper officiating. Burial will follow at Mackford Union Cemetery in the town of Mackford. Friends and relatives may call on the family on Thursday at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
