Dorothy Mouw, 89, a resident of The Christian Home & Rehabilitation Center in Waupun, died Thursday, February 14, 2013 at The Christian Home.
Dorothy was born July 12, 1923 in Baldwin, WI, the daughter of Chris and Bertha Wernlund Vande Zande. On August 27, 1945 she married Warren Mouw in Alto. The couple farmed on the family farm all their married lives. Dorothy was an Avon representative for several years. She was also employed as an office clerk for 18 years with the Brandon Post Office. Dorothy was a member of Alto Reformed Church where she was a Sunday school teacher and a member of The Ladies Guild. Dorothy and Warren enjoyed spending 18 winters together in Mission, TX.
Dorothy is survived by her husband of 67 years, Warren; a daughter, Marcia (John) Morrow of St. Paul, MN; two sons, Richard Mouw of Beaver Dam, and Jerry (Mary) Mouw of Brandon; nine grandchildren, Daniel Geister, Melissa (Grant) Monroe, Richard Jr. (Amy) Mouw, Sara Mouw, Timothy (Jen) Mouw, Sheila (Josh) Schultz, Andrew (Savanah) Mouw, Crystal Mouw, Laura Mouw, and Keyan Bellanti; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Lyle (Jane) Vande Zande of Houston, TX, and Robert Vande Zande of Waupun; and a sister, Lois Hillery of Racine.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her brother, Harold Vande Zande; and her parents.
Visitation:
Relatives and friends of Dorothy Mouw may call on the family on Sunday at Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun from 4-6 p.m. and on Monday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
Services:
Funeral services for Dorothy Mouw will be held Monday, February 18, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Alto Reformed Church with Rev. Ted Lindman officiating.
Burial:
Burial will follow at Alto Cemetery.
