Dorothy Doris Lemmenes, 89, of Waupun, went to be with the Lord on August 7, 2014 while residing at Marvin’s Manor in Waupun.




Dorothy was born June 11, 1925 in Friesland, WI the daughter of Charles and Katie Westra DeYoung. Dorothy met her husband of 65 years, David on a blind date. They were married on October 8, 1948 and farmed in the Waupun area. Dorothy was a faithful member of Trinity Reformed Church where she taught Bible class and was active in Women’s Guild. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, and crafting. She always kept her cookie jar full for her grandchildren. Dorothy was a creative woman in and outside of her home.

Dorothy is survived by her husband, David; her children: Karen (Gerry) Meekma of Randolph, Joann Lemmenes of Beaver Dam, Debra (Rick) Fude of Brandon, Lois (Keith) Greenfield of Waupun, and David (Marni) Lemmenes of Waupun; her grandchildren: Matthew (friend Jill) Meekma, Aaron (Sara) Meekma, Andrew (Krista) Mulder, Rachel (Jerome) Vogedes, Emily (friend Daniel) Mulder, Whitney (friend Jim) Fude, Cody Fude, Colton (friend Ashley) Fude, Jennifer (Rohn) Bishop, Grant (Jennifer) Greenfield, Brittany Lemmenes, Amber Lemmenes, Meaghan Lemmenes, and Morghan Lemmenes; her great-grandchildren: Arianna Meekma, Reagan Bishop, and Ty Greenfield; three step-great-granddaughters; her siblings: Jeanette Derksen, Arthur (Delores) DeYoung, Frieda (Wyman) VandeZande, and Hilda (Donald) DeVries; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law: Jessie DeYoung and Helen DeYoung, Wilma (Larry) Giebink, and Zada Lemmenes; and many nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers: Newton, Chester, John, and William DeYoung; her sister, Ann Hollander; and her in-laws: Carol DeYoung, Clarence Derksen, Gertrude DeYoung, Marty DeYoung, Albertus and Elizabeth Lemmenes, Harold Lemmenes, Merle Lemmenes, Kathleen and Harvey Freriks, Jean and Wesley Westhuis, and Lloyd Lemmenes.





Visitation:


Friends and relatives of Dorothy Lemmenes may call on the family Monday evening from 4-7 p.m. at Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun and on Tuesday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.



Services:


Funeral services for Dorothy Lemmenes will be held Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Reformed Church in Waupun with Rev. John White officiating.



Burial:


Burial will follow at Forest Mound Cemetery in Waupun.



Memorial Contributions:


In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Trinity Reformed Church, Agnesian Hospice Hope, or Marvin’s Manor.
