Donna Ter Beest, age 88, passed away Monday, January 20, 2025.

Donna was born May 27, 1936 in Fond du Lac, the daughter of Clarence and Henrietta Boom Glewen. Donna was a graduate of Brandon High School. On June 23, 1954 she married Calvin Ter Beest in Alto. Shortly following their marriage she joined Cal in Germany where he served in the U.S. Army. The couple farmed in the Alto/Brandon area for 30 years, and then moved to Waupun. Donna was employed by the University of WI as a Program Assistant, a Nutrition Manager for Dodge County, and as an Activity Director for Beaver Dam Care Center for 15 years. Donna was a member of Trinity Reformed Church. In previous years she was a member of Alto Reformed Church for 30 years, and a member of First Reformed Church for 15 years where she was President of Women’s West Wisconsin Classical Union of the Reformed Church. Over the years Donna taught Sunday School, was a Bible Class Teacher, and a Jr. Choir Director. She was active in women’s groups, was past president of First Reformed Ladies Society, and in 2008 started Abundant Life, a group for individuals 60 years of age and older.

Donna is survived by five children: Kimberly (Rev. James) Lemmenes of Humboldt, IA, Darla Hiemstra of Waupun, Calvin M. (Kathi) Ter Beest Jr. of Fond du Lac, Kristin Kay Purcell (John) Griffin of St. Peter, WI, and Cathy (Mark) Schoenweitz of Mondovi; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and neighbor and special friend, Marlene.

Donna was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Ter Beest in 2014; and a sister, Linda Barfield. 

Private graveside services will be held at Alto Cemetery.
