Donna Freriks

Donna Freriks, 80, of Waupun, passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2025, with family by her side.

Donna was born June 7, 1944 in Beaver Dam, the daughter of Edward and Mildred Ter Beest Flier. Donna attended Waupun schools, graduating from Waupun High School in 1962. On May 9, 1964 she married Hal Freriks and the couple resided in Waupun all their married lives. Throughout her working career she was employed as bookkeeper/secretary for Capital Finance Corporation in Waupun for three years, Dr. Paul Wheeler’s Optometry, and Something New Hallmark Store, and also cared for children in her home. Donna enjoyed gardening, crocheting, knitting, and most of all enjoyed her family. Donna was a lifetime member of First Reformed Church in Waupun where she played piano for Sunday School, at the Christian Home, and Marvin’s Manor.

Donna is survived by her husband, Hal Freriks; children: David Freriks, Vonda (Alan) Buchda, Steven Freriks, Linda (Tim) Haag, and Brad (Jennifer) Freriks; grandchildren: Justin (Michelle) Freriks, Bryce (Margaret) Buchda, Brandt (fiance Erin) Buchda, Brenden Buchda, Kodie (Natalie) Freriks, Heidi Haag, Joshua (special friend Abby) Haag, Mikayla (Bryce) Weiland, Corey Freriks, and Haley Freriks; great-grandchildren: Logan, Riley, and Natalie Freriks, Ellie and Leighton Buchda and Dawson Weiland; a brother, Harlan (Sandra) Flier; and sisters: Marcia (special friend Steve) Medema and Debra (Chuck) Bille.

Donna was preceded in death by her mother and father, Ed and Mildred Flier; and an infant brother, Kenneth.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 17, 2025 at 11 a.m. at First Reformed Church in Waupun with Pastor Barry Lang officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Mound Cemetery in Waupun. Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun from 4-7 p.m. and on Thursday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
