Donald Daane

Donald Oscar Daane, 93, of Waupun, died Thursday, October 4, 2012 at his home.



Donald was born January 26, 1919 in Fond du Lac the son of Oscar and Alma Ferch Daane. On March 27, 1942 he married Doris Van Buren in Waupun. Following their marriage Donald and Doris farmed in the town of Alto until 1969. He was then employed by American Stores in Fairwater and retired in 1984. In October of 2010 they moved to Waupun. Donald is a member of Alto Reformed Church and its Golden Lifers. Donald was an avid bowler and enjoyed playing cards. Donald and Doris enjoyed many years of camping with their family as well as traveling throughout the United States.

Donald is survived by his wife, Doris Daane of Waupun; a daughter, Donna (Larry) Klosterman of Waupun; four sons, Brian Daane of Waupun, Loren (Jody) Daane of Appleton, David Daane and special friend, Lana Rosenthal of Fond du Lac, and Darwin (Karen) Daane of Menasha; a daughter-in-law, Nancy (Ken) Westhuis of Coloma; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Floyd Daane of Waupun; and a sister-in-law, June Thieleke of Randolph.

Visitation:
Friends and relatives may call on the family on Tuesday at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of service.

Services:
Funeral services for Donald Daane will be held Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at 12 noon at Alto Reformed Church in the town of Alto with Rev. Ted Medema officiating.

Burial:
Burial will follow at Alto Cemetery.
