Don married Sharon (Straks) on February 1, 1964 and they recently celebrated their 60th anniversary. Don was an avid sportsman who passed his love of the outdoors onto his family. Don graduated from Waupun High School in 1960 and earned a degree from Madison Business College before managing the Ready Mix Plant in Waupun. He then worked as the head of the field department at Alto Dairy, was an Alto Town Supervisor, and was President of the Waupun Hunt Club before he retired in 2007. After his retirement he stayed busy as a real estate agent for nearly 20 years.
Don is survived by his wife Sharon; his children: Rene (Rich) Frost, Doug (Julie) DeMotts, and Scott DeMotts; six grandchildren: Ashley Franz, Zane DeMotts, Taylor Frost, Ty DeMotts, Robert DeMotts, and Jacob DeMotts; and his sister, Lorna Kamp of Fox Lake.
