Diane “Katie” Hopp, 66, of Madison, died peacefully Thursday, April 7, 2016 at Agrace Hospice Care in Madison after a 5-year battle with Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency.
Katie was born June 10, 1949 in Beaver Dam, the daughter of Clarence and Marie Smits Hopp. She attended Waupun schools and graduated from Waupun High School. Katie attended the School of Cosmetology in Oshkosh, became a hairstylist, and worked in Fond du Lac. She was also employed in Madison at Emporium Hair Salon and most recently, Trendsetters. Katie loved life and lived it to the fullest.
Katie is survived by a sister, Carolyn Hopp of Madison; two brothers, Harlan (Judy) Hopp of Oakfield and Milford (Pat) Hopp of Waupun; along with several nieces and nephews; and her loving cat, Goldie.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Marie Hopp; a sister, Marilyn Haverkate; and her life partner of 27 years, Mark Benedict.
A celebration of Katie’s life will be held in the near future.
