Denise Jackson-Buchholz

1958 - 2021

Denise Jackson-Buchholz, 62, of Waupun, passed away January 17, 2021 at her home.

Denise was born September 25, 1958 to Dale and Margaret “Peggy” Smalling Buchholz. Denise went to Waupun area schools and graduated in 1976. After graduating she obtained her associate’s degree in accounting and worked as senior accountant for 16 years. After being told she wasn’t able to have children she was blessed with a son and a daughter who she loved very much. In her free time she loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren. She made numerous visits to Tennessee to visit family which meant a great deal to her. When she wasn’t spending time with her family she enjoyed watching the Packers and Harry Potter marathons. Denise sure loved her coffee. She was such a caring person and always put others before herself.

Denise is survived by one son, Chris (Kayla) Jackson of Waupun; a daughter, Crystal Hepler of Waupun; two siblings: a brother, Mitch (Brenda) Buchholz of Withee, and a sister, Elizabeth Doherty of Waukesha; three grandchildren: Jeremiah and Anaiah Jackson, and Alice Hepler; Denise was also a loving Aunt to Jake “Dude” Buchholz, Lindsay “Linny” Buchholz (Wayne) Moore, Melissa and Chet Rickerman, and Katie.

Denise was preceded in death by her parents; a life-long best friend, Lowanda Marlow; and Don and Beverly Paske.

Although I haven’t seen Denise in over 50 years, I remember her fondly as always being happy, confident, and energetic! Each time my family visited, she was like a whirlwind, talking to me, teaching me about stuff I didn’t know (like swamps, snakes where a house used to be, Lemon heads, and pen pals), and always making a new impression on me. I regret that we lost contact after my family moved away and, after having an opportunity to see Mitch a couple of years ago, I was hoping to make my way west to reconnect with Denise, too. My heart goes out to the family. You’re all in my prayers.

Sending thoughts and prayers to her children, grandchildren, and her siblings. Every day at work when we would catch up she was always talking about you with such pride and love. She was a great friend who was so smart and hardworking. I will miss her dearly.

I’m so sad Dizzy is no longer with us. She certainly had some fight in her. She was a wonderful, caring, funny gal. Sympathies to you all.

My deepest sympathies to you all. I enjoyed working with her and hearing stories of the family. She loved you all so much and was so proud of you. Hope you can find comfort in that and memories of her.
