David Gray

David Gray, 68, of Waupun, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at his home.

David was born May 25, 1949 in Waupun the son of Dial and Laura Hopp Gray. On March 16, 1972 he married Carol Steinberg in Ridgecrest, CA. Following their marriage the couple moved to Waupun. David worked at Maysteel in Mayville. He was a member of the Armed Forces, having served with the U.S. Navy. For most of their lives David and Carol enjoyed hunting, fishing, and riding their Harley. They enjoyed spending time outdoors, and shared their life together.

David is survived by two sisters: Mary Budahn of Mayville and Sandy Gray of Waupun; brother-in-law, Dennis (Sue) Steinberg of Oshkosh; sister-in-law, Joann (Johann) Costello of Oshkosh; niece and nephew, Jessica Kempf and Danny Budahn; and other nieces and nephews.

David was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Carol Gray; and a brother-in-law, Michael Steinberg.



Friends and relatives may call on the family on Monday at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until the time of service.


Funeral services for David Gray will be held Monday, September 11, 2017 at 6 p.m. at Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun with Rev. Robert Sherwood officiating. American Legion Post 210 will provide military honors.
