Daniel Kapitanski

d. December 8, 2021

It is with great sadness that the family of Daniel V. Kapitanski, 55, of Fox Lake, announce his sudden passing on December 8, 2021 at Waupun Memorial Hospital.

Dan was a great man, an attentive & wonderful husband, father, and all who knew him will not forget his friendliness and humor. He was proud of his children's accomplishments and was always willing to help anyone in need.

Dan was born March 4, 1966 in Milwaukee, the son of Ronald and Kathleen Kapitanski. Dan was a graduate of Pulaski High School in Milwaukee. He married the love of his life, Renee Nickel in West Allis on February 24, 1990. Dan enjoyed spending time with his family, and cooking was an important thing to Dan for any function. He loved to smoke meat and fish in his smoker; his father-in-law thought it was so good he should sell it. Dan once owned a 1952 Dodge pick up and loved going to vintage car shows. He was raised in a hunting and fishing household and had many fond memories of prior trips. Dan loved to share his passion for the outdoors with his children, nieces and nephews, and his grandsons. Since the birth of his grandsons, spending time with them was a priority. Dan was a prankster, and enjoyed teaching that to his oldest Grandson Jax. They loved going to the park, zoo, marsh, or doing anything with their Grandpa Dan... and he felt the same way.

Dan is survived by his wife of 31 years, Renee Kapitanski of Fox Lake; two children: Jessica (Mitch) Barrera of Beaver Dam, Jacob Kapitanski of Fox Lake; two grandsons: Jaxson and Dakota Barrera: his parents, Ronald and Kathleen Kapitanski of Oxford, WI; two brothers: Christopher (Kristie) Kapitanski of Milwaukee and Douglas (Ilene) Kapitanski of New Berlin; and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.

Dan was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Dennis and Michele Nickel.

We'll miss you husband, dad, brother, nephew, cousin, uncle, & cherished friend. We will keep you in our stories, and you will always be with us. You are loved.

Memorial services and a celebration of Dan’s life will take place at a later date.

The family suggests memorials be directed in Dan's name to “Friends of Clausen Park” P.O. Box 105 Fox Lake WI 53933.
