Dan McCartney

Dan W. McCartney, 52, of Waupun, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, January 6, 2017 with his family by his side.

Dan was born September 30, 1964 in Madison the son of Wendell and Bonnie Gibbs McCartney. Dan graduated from Madison schools. After graduation, he worked at many industrial companies. On July 19, 2003 he married Lisa Erdman-Bedker. Dan enjoyed camping, animals, loved tinkering with cars, and spending time with his family.

Dan is survived by his wife, Lisa McCartney of Waupun; seven children: Josh (Debbie) McCartney of Waupun, Aaron McCartney of Brandon, Eric McCartney (special friend Gabby) of Oshkosh, Brandon (Christine) McCartney of Waupun, Jason Bedker of Fond du Lac, Jessica (Jason) Donahue of Fond du Lac, and Caitlyn Bedker of Fond du Lac; eight grandchildren: Daniel, Nikolas, Jayden, Sarah, Finlee, Charlotte, Riley, and Macie; two sisters: Dawn (Louis) Carpentieri of Connecticut, and Gail (Dennis) Miller of McFarland; two brothers: James (Tracy) McCartney of Florida, and David McCartney of Sun Prairie; a very special mother-in-law, Gale Erdman of Beaver Dam; Julie and Kevin of Beaver Dam, and Susan and David of Tennessee; two dogs, Bear and Marley; and nieces nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Nancy McCartney.



Friends and relatives may call on the family on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 from 4-7 p.m. at Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun.


Private burial services will be held at Forest Mound Cemetery.
