(1952 - 2013)
Curt R. “Gowdy” Schlieve, 60, of Waupun, died Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at The University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison surrounded by his family.
Curt was born July 31, 1952 in Waupun, the son of Jud and Thelma Pluim Schlieve. He attended Waupun schools, graduating from Waupun High School in 1970. In 1976 he married Daun Andrews in Waupun. The couple resided in Waupun while they were married. Curt was part owner and manager of Judsons Bowling Lanes. He was a member of the Waupun Tavern League Association. In his younger years most of his time was spent playing baseball, softball, and enjoying the “good old times” with his friends and family. He most recently loved the sports of golfing and bowling. Most important to him was being able to spend time with his granddaughters, family, and several long time friends. The worlds best “social chemist” is now with the “spirit in the sky”.
Curt is survived by his two daughters, Amber (Brad) Gaffney of Waupun and Nicci (Aaron “Fuzz”) Vande Zande of Waupun; two granddaughters, Kennady and Alexandra Gaffney; his parents, Jud and Thelma Schlieve of Winneconne; brothers and sisters, Clint (Vicki) Schlieve, Cal (Beth) Schlieve, Clay Schlieve, Chuck (Kathy) Schlieve, Jamie (Glenn) Marwitz, and Jodi (John) Holbach; all of Waupun; and several nieces and nephews.
Curt was preceded in death by his grandparents and a nephew.
