Christena Ter Beest, 90, a resident of Marvin’s Manor in Brandon, died peacefully on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 with her family at her side.
Christena was born July 27, 1922 in the town of Alto, the daughter of Albert and Jenny Navis Mulder. On July 13, 1944 she married Edward Ter Beest in Alto. Following their marriage the couple resided in the Alto area and remained there all of their married lives where they farmed for many years. Christena was a member of Alto Christian Reformed Church.
Christena is survived by a daughter, Joyce (Marlyn) Respalje of Brandon; two sons, Elton (Betty) Ter Beest of Waupun, and Dale (Renee) Ter Beest of Brownsville; eight grandchildren, Jill Bendik, Jodie Ten Pass (fiancé John Hayes), Jeff (Deanna) Respalje, Mark (Nicki) Ter Beest, Eric (Missy) Ter Beest, Jeremy Ter Beest, Kim Ottery, and Travis D. Ter Beest; 15 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Julia Broadway of Waupun, and Catherine (Frank) DeJager of Waupun; four brothers, Willis (Ramona) Mulder of Waupun, Alvin (Lenore) Mulder of Brandon, Junior (Georgene) Mulder of Waupun, and Harold (Gertrude) Mulder of Waupun; a sister-in-law, Joan Mulder of Brandon; and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Edward, who died in 1990; a brother, Albertus Mulder; and a sister, Marion Sanders.
Visitation:
Friends and relatives of Christena Ter Beest may call on the family on Friday from 5-7 p.m. at the Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun and on Saturday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
Services:
Funeral services for Christena Ter Beest will be held Saturday, September 15, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at Alto Christian Reformed Church with Rev. Forsell Gappa officiating.
Burial:
Burial will follow at Alto Cemetery.
