February 25, 1932-October 11, 2023
Charlotte “Jane” Fetzik, of Weslaco, Texas passed away on Wednesday, October 11, 2023.
Jane was born on February 25, 1932 in Hibbing, MN to Dean & Mary Jane Coffin. She was a 1950 graduate of Hibbing High School. Jane married the love of her life, Richard Fetzik on August 5, 1961 in Lampasses, Texas. Dick & Jane celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary this past August surrounded by family & friends. They later moved to Beaver Dam, WI where they called home for 30+ years and raised their children. In their retirement years they became snowbirds and wintered in Weslaco, TX at Pine to Palm Resort Park. They came back to the Beaver Dam area every summer to visit family and friends. Every year they would extend their stay in Texas a bit longer until they became full time residents of Texas in 1999. Dick & Jane enjoyed traveling to Branson for shows and fun on their trips between Wisconsin & Texas.
Jane was one of the first volunteers for the hospice program at the old Beaver Dam Hospital. She spent many years volunteering in the hospice program, working in palliative care and later transitioned to in-home care for elders. All of her patients loved her and she had so many referrals that she had to turn down jobs. Her love for others shined through in everything that she did.
Jane had the gift to gab and made friends everywhere she went. She loved telling stories about her life experiences and learning about others stories as well. She welcomed everyone in as though they were family and always had a smile on her face. She loved singing and ice cream… a lot of ice cream!
Jane will be sadly missed and mourned by the love of her life, Richard Fetzik; her children, Roxanne (Mark) Hills of Manitowoc, John (Caren) Fetzik of Glenview, IL, Amy (Eric) Jones of Kenosha and Beth Berger of Cambria. Jane adored her grandchildren; Naomi (Brian) Kowald, Erika (Aden) Springer, Trevor Jones & Nathan Jones and Stephanie (Tim) Steinert. She held a special place in her heart for her great grandchildren; Maggie & John Kowald, Shaye & Weston Springer and Skyker, Brooklyn and Autumn Steinert.
Jane was preceded in death by her parents, a son-in-law Joseph “Pup” Berger, a brother and half-sister.
