Charles Robert Kamp, age 84, of Menasha, passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2024.
Charles was born on August 10, 1940, in Waupun, WI, the son of Charles & Evelyn (Franklin) Kolanczyk. When Charles was a young boy, Evelyn was remarried to Delmar W. He married his high school sweetheart Carol Ann Homan on August 18, 1962 at the Fox Lake Presbyterian Church and they settled in Fox Lake. Charles and Carol were longtime residents of Fox Lake, raising their children there. Charles worked at Homan’s Grocery for many years where many people remember him behind the butcher's counter. Later he worked for the United States Postal Service delivering mail as a rural mail carrier. During his time living in Fox Lake he served as an alderman and a volunteer firefighter. He served in the US Army and was a long time member of the American Legion Post 521.
In 2012, Charles and Carol moved to Menasha to be closer to their grandchildren, who brought immeasurable joy and pride to their lives.
Charles passed peacefully at home after living with COPD for many years. He is survived by his beloved wife, Carol Ann Kamp of Menasha, WI; his son Mitchell Jon Kamp of Appleton, WI; and his daughter, Linda Sue (James) Weidert of Menasha, WI.
