Catherine (Decker) Dunlap

Catherine M. “Cathy” (Decker) Dunlap, age 70, passed away May 14, 2024.

Cathy was born January 11, 1954, the daughter of Elmer and Jeanette Triezengberg Decker. Cathy graduated from Central Wisconsin Christian High School in Waupun and then Trinity Christian College in Palos Heights, IL. On March 15, 1986 she married Michael J. Dunlap. Cathy loved knitting, crocheting, and volunteering at the Moose Lodge. Cathy was a pivotal leader for the Moose Fraternity and Chapter. She was a member of the Niles Community Church prior to becoming a member of Presbyterian Church in Park Ridge, IL where she was very active, volunteered, and was a deacon. 

Cathy is survived by her brother, William J. (Barb) Decker of Waupun, WI; niece, Carrie Decker (Lane LeRoy) of Beaver Dam, WI; nephew, Ben (Erin) Decker of Waupun, WI; nephews: Michael Burke and Matthew Burke; brothers-in-law; James Burke of Adams/Friendship, WI and Patrick Dunlap of Gilberts, IL; sister-in-law, Judith Hedlund and her son, Brian Hedlund of Hoffman Estates, IL; sister-in-law, Nancy (Gale) Beachum and sons, Paul and Brandon Beachum of Peachtree Corners, GA; nephew, Mark Safranski of South Elgin, IL; and niece, Julie Urban of Chicago, IL.

Cathy was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Dunlap who passed away June 20, 2013; mother, Jeanette (Triezenberg) Decker on December 26, 2011; father, Elmer John Decker on November 18, 2017; and sister, Donna E. (Decker) Burke on March 7, 2017; mother and father-in-law, William and Vivian Dunlap; brother-in-law, Harry Hedlund; and sister-in-law, Mary Jane Safranski.
