Cassandra Gelhar

Cassandra Gelhar, 34, of Fond du Lac, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, March 5, 2022 at her residence.

Cassie was born January 17, 1988 in Fond du Lac, the daughter of Gregory Schneider and Kerstin “Bunny” Gelhar. Cassie was a 2006 graduate of Waupun High School. She received her CNA and worked at the Christian Home in Waupun and later at The Green Dragon in Fond du Lac. She enjoyed being with her children, shopping, and family.

Cassie is survived by daughters: Kaya Vanderbush and Alivia Sobotta; son, Malakai Wenzel; mother, Kerstin “Bunny” Straks (significant other, Brian Andrysczyk); father, Greg (Laurie) Schneider of North Fond du Lac; sisters: Meghan Gosz, Shelby (Bill) Wulff, and Danielle (Aaron) Drossart; brother, Koy Straks; nephew, Liam Wulff; maternal grandparents, James and Sigrid Gelhar; paternal grandparents, Joyce Schneider and Nancy Forsberg; paternal great-grandmother, Marcella Beam; biological father, Mark Pauliot; biological brother and sisters: Nickolas Pauliot, Alexandra Pertzborn, Amber Pauliot, Rhilee Norton, and Ryanna Norton; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Cassie was preceded in death by her high school sweetheart, Tyler Vanderbush; infant son, James; grandfathers: Conrad Schneider, Roger Forsberg, and Wesley Pauliot; brother, Jacob Pauliot; and cousin, Bryce Gelhar.



Friends and relatives may call on the family on Thursday from 3 p.m. until the time of service.



Funeral services for Cassie Gelhar will be held Thursday, March 10, 2022 at 5 p.m. at Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home.
