Carol A. Schneider, 79, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at St. Agnes Hospital with her daughters by her side.
Carol was born August 22, 1942 to Kenneth and Bernetta Seibel. Carol graduated from Goodrich High School and started working at various establishments but the most important one was Kmart where she met so many wonderful people. On May 30, 1964 she married the love of her life, Thomas J. Schneider in Mt. Calvary. Carol was a devoted wife and mother raising three daughters and helped Tom start a construction business as well as a fire tank inspector business until they both retired and moved to Alabama where they spent 20 years. Carol was an avid member of the Clayton Red Hat Society and received an award for her outstanding service in supporting the Clayton Elementary School. She loved crafting with her children and grandchildren and taught them many valuable lessons on preserving and painting whimsical gourds.
Family was everything to Carol and she loved the annual Seibel family weekend gathering and never missed one in over 20 years. She was happy to move back to Wisconsin to be with family these last few years and continued her love of guiding her daughters and grandchildren in gardening and watching the wildlife in her backyard.
Carol is survived by her three daughters: Debra (Kelly) Vande Zande, Dellene (Karl) Swast, and Donna (Jeff) Saylor; 10 grandchildren: Matt (Ashlie) Loewer, Ashley (Derek) Larson, Joshua (Rachel) Schill, Carissa (Ed) Schill, Tim Swast, Jon Swast, Lydia (Ben) Mighton, Lisa (Tyler) Barbian, Tracy Saylor, and Sarah Saylor; three great-grandchildren; Stetson, Lilly, and Ophelia; sisters: Ellen Seibel and Kathy (Don) Kraus; brothers: Bill (Kay) Seibel, Terry (Michele) Seibel, Kenneth, Jr (Cathy) Seibel, Warren (Diane) Seibel, Andrew (Chris) Seibel. Special mention, her godchild Kelly Siebauer.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas J. Schneider who passed in September, her parents, Kenneth and Bernetta Seibel, sister, Mary Jean Reinhart; brother, Neal Seibel; sister-in-law, Carol “Little Carol” Seibel.
Carol’s daughters would like to thank all the family and friends who were at Carol’s side to help her with this journey and made sure she knew how loved she was.
