Bear was born January 14, 1952 in Beaver Dam, the son of Emory “Bud” and Jean Nordrum Schepp. Bear was a graduate of Waupun High School in 1970. He was employed for several years with the City of Waupun at the Wastewater Treatment Plant and later worked at John Deere in Horicon from which he retired. Bear enjoyed carpentry and built several garages and homes in the Waupun area with his father. He was an excellent cook and baker, and enjoyed making meals for family gatherings. He was a very talented artist and had a deep love for music.
Bear is survived by his daughter, Leslie (Dusty) Posthuma of rural Waupun; two granddaughters: Norah Ganske and Genevieve “Evie” Ganske; brothers: Craig (Julie) Schepp of Madison and William (Liz) Schepp of Sheboygan; a sister, Sue (John) Martin of Palmyra, VA; nieces and nephews; great-nieces and nephews; and an aunt, Phyllis Williams of Waupun.
Bear was preceded in death by his parents; and a nephew, Wade Schepp.
Funeral services for Bear Schepp will be held Saturday, April 13, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun with Rev. Steve Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens in the town of Trenton. Friends and relatives may call on the family on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
