Bob (Robert Lee) Schelter

Bob (Robert Lee) Schelter passed away on December 30, 2022.  The son of Joseph and Marie (Reilly) Schelter, Bob was born on February 5, 1956 in Waupun.

Bob is survived by his wife, Julie Hoffmann; 3 children: Jamie Schelter, Joseph (Stephanie) Hoffmann, and Lilly (Brandon) Guenther; one sister, Julie (Rob) Schelter; one brother, Mike (Ann) Schelter; five grandchildren; two nephews; and a large extended family that included many close friends.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Jimmy (James) Schelter, and his daughter Becky (Rebekah) Schelter.

Bob served in the Army and Army National Guard. He was hard-working and determined. Starting with a diploma in appliance servicing, he opened a small appliance repair and resale business that he had for over 40 years. He supplemented his business by working other jobs--the most recent was at Mercury Marine. He also earned three associate’s degrees at Moraine Park Technical College and acquired many other skills along the way.  Bob never completed his last appliance service call because he went into the hospital instead.

Bob enjoyed deer hunting to the end and tagged his last buck during the bow hunting season of 2022.

Bob loved his family and friends more than most probably knew, and he had a story (or two) to tell about everyone! He prayed every day and wanted to live just one more…

Funeral services for Robert “Bob” Schelter will be held Friday, January 6, 2023 at 12 noon at Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun. Friends and relatives may call on the family on Thursday at the funeral home from 4-7 p.m. and on Friday from 11 a.m. until the time of service.
