Arlene Dorothy Golz, 85, born on September 26, 1938, rose to Heaven on November 7, 2023, after a brief illness. Arlene was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, and her memory will forever live in our hearts.
Arlene was the daughter of Ellsworth and Dorothy (Waters) Chase and a dedicated wife to Richard J. Golz. Her life was a testament to love, kindness, and unwavering commitment.
Arlene graduated Markesan High School and went on to pursue a career in nursing, earning a degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She had a lifelong commitment to caring for others, particularly in her 26 years of dedicated service at Waupun Memorial Hospital. Her fondest memories were created in the tender care of newborn babies, where she shared in the joy of new life, offering comfort and support to countless families. She continued her compassionate work and eventually retired from Clearview Nursing Home. Her career was marked by unwavering dedication and a nurturing spirit.
Arlene's dedication to her family and their legacy extended beyond her professional life, she continued to play a vital role in the family's business, Golz Orchard and Farm Market, which was founded by her late husband. Her memory will be forever intertwined with the delicious smells and flavor of the apple turnovers she baked daily up until recently.
She is survived by her son, Richard C. Golz, and his wife Lori who resided in Waupun, and her daughter, Michelle M. Clark, and her husband, Bryan, from Brandon. Her grandchildren: Steven Richard (Jen Kohl) Hopp, Jennifer (Casey) Koehler, Brett (Christy) Golz and Carsen (Brittany) Clark. In addition, Arlene was blessed with eight great-grandchildren, Kelsi, Matt, Chase, Peyton, Easton, Grayson, Savannah, and Serena. She will also be missed by her siblings, Sally Resop, Marikay (Zeke) Finley, Daniel (Nancy) Chase, and Susan (Joe) Wrzinsky. Furthermore, she was blessed with the extended family through her brother-in-law Larry Golz and sisters-in- law Christine (Gary) Lambert and Sharon Pierce, as well as her nieces and nephews.
While her family brought her immense joy, Arlene also experienced the sorrow of loss. She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Dick, a grandson Blaine, as well as her brothers Ellsworth Jr. and Jerry Chase and sister Patricia Fox, brothers-in-law Richard Resop, Ralph Fox, sister-in-law Phyllis Ball and her husband Herman.
A private service to celebrate Arlene's life will be held on Monday, November 13, 2023 at Werner Harmsen Funeral Home with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery in Waupun.
