Jack Gerritson

Jack E. Gerritson, 80, of Waupun, passed away Sunday, June 26, 2016 at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac with his family by his side.

Jack was born in Milwaukee, WI the son of Russell and Marjorie (Mugridge) Gerritson. Jack attended Waupun schools. He was then drafted by the U.S. Army and fought in the Korean War. He later worked in the construction trade industry and then ran a very successful restaurant for many years. Jack was always known for being a huge family man. He loved his family and close friends dearly.


Jack is survived by a daughter, Julie Merkel of Waupun; three brothers: Dennis (Judy) Gerritson of West Bend, Jim (Linda) Gerritson of Waupun, and Scott (Pam) Gerritson of Waupun; a sister, Yvonne (Gerald) Vant Hoff of Beaver Dam; seven grandchildren: Nicholas (Gloria) Thompson, Nichole Thompson, Kori Thompson, Bryce Southard, Miranda Merkel, Aaron Merkel, and Alyssa Merkel; eight great-grandchildren: Rosie, Evan, Kaylyn, Addyson, Ty, Caydn, Amira, and Amaya; and many nieces and nephews. Jack was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends and relatives may call on the family on Wednesday at the funeral home from 4-6 p.m.


Funeral services for Jack Gerritson will be held Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at 6 p.m. at Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun.
