Opal Kuzulka, 92, of Waupun, died Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at Marvin’s Manor in Waupun.
Opal was born October 29, 1923 in Ridgeville, WI the daughter of Edward and Ella Thoenes Deutsch. Opal attended Waupun schools and graduated in 1941 from Waupun High School. On July 4, 1942 she married Nicolai “Nick” Kuzulka in Waupun. Following their marriage the couple resided in California for a period of time and spent most of their married life in Waupun. Opal was employed at the Huth James Shoe Factory in Waupun and Bennett’s Grocery in Waupun. Opal was a den mother for Cub Scouts and a member of Union-Congregational Church in Waupun. Opal was loving, devoted, and generous to her family, friends and neighbors.
Opal is survived by a son, Nick (Judy) Kuzulka of Waupun; a daughter-in-law, Sue Kuzulka of Waupun; six grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Nicolai Kuzulka; a son, Kurt Kuzulka; a granddaughter, Karen DeBoer; three brothers: Robert, Donald, and Art Deutsch; and two sisters: Margaret Smith and Doris Cupery.
Friends and relatives may call on the family on Friday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
Funeral services for Opal Kuzulka will be held Friday, April 1, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Union-Congregational Church in Waupun with Rev. Jack Kraaz officiating.
Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens in the town of Trenton.
